SXSW - 7PM - Monday 15th March
We're going to do this whatever happens, so dress for the weather! Make sure you've found a partner to come along with, let's go...
- 1. First download ONE of the MP3 files on the right, if your birthday is between January and June then you should download "LOST", if your birthday is between July and December you should download "FOUND"
- 2. It is VERY IMPORTANT that you and your partner download the SAME file, so you should just pick one of your birthdays.
- 3. Make sure that the track plays ok on both of your MP3 players, but don't listen to too much of it yet, you'll spoil the surprise. The track is around 33mins long so may take sometime to download and copy.
- 4. On the map below you will see a location in Austin, on Monday the 15th you should be somewhere in the designated area marked before 7 PM. (You should stay in these areas throughout the event).
- 5. You should press play on your MP3 players at EXACTLY 7 PM, Synchronise your watches to a reliable clock (or use the radio if you prefer)
Where it's happening...
..and remember, this is a subtle mob, it's all about being invisible, so we ask kindly that you don't spend all your time just taking photos and videos, just come and enjoy the experience. And you may find that hiding your SXSW badge will help you disappear more. If you've got any questions these hints may help, otherwise drop us a mail at subtlemob@gmail.com
Hints
What if I'm late? - if you're running late then you should start listening to the track at 7 PM and then just catch up once you get to the area on the map, remember to synchronise your watch to the radio or something similar.
Will it work on any MP3 player? - Yes, it should work on any MP3 player, if you're using a mobile phone then it's probably best to set it so you can't receive calls while you're listening (this is called 'airplane mode' on some handsets) otherwise you may go out of sync.
What if i accidentally stop the track while listening to it? - if you're MP3 player has a 'hold' switch on it then we recommend you turn that on. If you can't do that and something goes wrong then you could just fast forward the track to the right minute past the hour (e.g. if it's 6.15 then fast forward 15mins into the track)
